Since I've started photoblogging in 2004, I've always admired and drawn inspiration from Heath Carney's photography at Montage. His fantastic band photos and experimentation with photography is refreshing. The latest change to his site, HeathCarny.com, really showcases his stunning work, especially his landscape shots. Six weeks ago this sweet stray cat decided to adopt us! A check up with the local vet revealed she's about 5 years old and other than scratches to her eyes, she's in good health. We've owned dogs before, so she's our first cat.

NYTimes.com has a great weekly story featuring local New Yorkers called One in 8 Million. Per the series, "It's a collection of a few of their passions and problems, relationships and routines, vocations and obsessions."
Titled "Elegance in Shoe Repair" on DailySnapshots.com, I just had to get this shot. I was driving in my car, stopped for a red light, when I saw this classy looking lady repairing shoes. I raised up my camera to take a shot... and all I could see is the back of someone in the viewfinder of the camera. I look up and that someone is standing between the lady and I. I'm waiting and waiting for him to move, mumbling something like, "What's there to see... move out of the way!" I even tried mind control, but of course that didn't work. Then the light turns green.
